UNICEF in the ECARO region recently held an online event to reflect on the experience and lessons learned in establishing AAC within Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. The event provided a jumping-off point for further work and action within the region and beyond.
Over the last month many Ukranians have had to leave their country. We have been trying to see how we can help. As a start we have gathered together some links to resources that might help with communication needs across several countries supporting refugees as well as links to those with donation buttons and free translated communication boards.
Today there have been tweets and an entry on the Zero Project Facebook page about our 2022 award and we are also asking for help to trial a free mini course about making symbols, boards and information sheets for caring situations.
What a wonderful way to end 2021! We have received a Zero Project 2022 Innovative Practices and Policies on Accessibility Award and have Greek translation of our site and Mulberry Symbols. New Bulgarian Symbols in Cyrllic and Latin script as well as Moodle training in Bulgarian and Macedonian training for AAC Guided Pathways.
As a result of a Churchlll Fellowship COVID-19 Action Fund grant we have been exploring ways to produce easy to access printable materials for building knowledge around the creation of information sheets and commmunication charts with different symbol and image styles for various social and hospital care settings.
