Explore our AI generated symbol sets and collections, Watch out for specific topics and very different styles of symbols in the coming months. Individual open licenced symbols can be downloaded and used as a starting point for generating new AI images for a particular look and feel to support ideas around localisation, personalisation and customisation.

Spring updating behind the scenes!

In the UK Spring has come and nearly gone and we have been busy working on all things AI behind the scenes. This background work is all about laying the foundations for an update of Symbol Creator AI, that allows us to create symbols in the style of some of our open licenced symbol sets.

Generating AI symbols based on Topics

Working with Sensory App House has provided us with the chance to create a wide range of topic categories as part of our experimenting with various different AI models. The results for realistic and representational looking images as symbols has been surprisingly good for some subjects.

Looking forward to ATIA 2025 conference

The ATIA 2025 conference offers the Global Symbols team a chance to catch up with the latest advancements in Assistive Technology as well as Augmentative and Alternative Communication research and practices. We also hope to share the advances we have been making in the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence technologies for the creation of pictographic.

Helping GenAI make symbols for communication using text prompts

In today's digital world, Generative AI (GenAI) has the potential to help us make AAC symbols using descriptive sentences known as text prompts. The resulting images may never be 100% perfect, but with help it is possible to avoid some confusing and inconsistent results which may only need a little expert editing.
