AI for AAC Symbol Style Transformation

In 2023 we were awarded an Artificial Intelligence (AI) project with a team from the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton including Professor Mike Wald and Dr Chaohai Ding thanks to a Web Science Institute Stimulus Fund . At the heart of this six month project was the aim to look into the use of “AI for AAC symbol style transformation and auto-generation from other images”. It turned out to be the beginning of our journey into the world of generative AI and text prompts for the creation of pictographic symbols.
