1b. Example - Key partners working with UNICEF in Eastern Europe

When working on the project the key partners:

  • In Serbia and Bulgaria were resource centres supporting inclusive education.
  • In Montenegro it was the Ministry of Education.
  • In Macedonia, it was an NGO who specialised in supporting children with disabilities.
  • In the Croatian VOICE project, the core partner was the University of Zagreb Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences (ERF) with speech and language therapists, special teachers and social pedagogists who work with children, young people and adults on the prevention, treatment and support for various bio-psycho-social difficulties and complex communication needs. They further describe aspects of their early intervention teamwork in a chapter of their publication about AAC and early intervention.

All the teams mentioned above were involved in customising symbol sets. developing and supporting blended learning training sessions for professionals, initiating use of AAC assistive technologies, as well as providing expert advice to other partners in the project.
